OMC Recommends: Cool stuff we like right now (OnMilwaukee.com)
We're all buzzing about Summerfest this week in the OMC editorial office, but we also found time to discuss some new music, a tasty orange peel, a podcast, a blog and some comfortable footwear.
I'll take a Scion with that chocolate-covered orange peel (Autoblog)
Who says American ingenuity is dead? Nick James? friend Mike had to make containers for his graphic design class. Mike, apparently an automotive enthusiast (?car nut? per Nick), developed candy boxes on three boxy cars, complete with nutritional information. The three candy boxes are called Scion Sour Candy, H2 Tangerine and Magnum Mango. We?re betting the H2 Tangerine has more calories than
What is: 'Bad news for GM' for $1000, Alex (Autoblog)
Looks as if GM?s problems are expanding into the arena of brand confusion. On a recent Jeopardy! , not one of the three finalists was able to name Pontiac as the maker of the Aztek and the Grand Prix. The three incorrectly answered Toyota, Mercury and Buick. As car guys and gals, sometimes things that are terribly obvious to us are a flash in the pan for the rest of the population. Looks
SMART's small move makes a big statement (Autoblog)
Smart has launched its ForTwo model in a color you don?t often see apart from the dated Mary Kay Cadillacs ? pale pink. ?Everyone expects smart to be chic and fun,? said Jeremy Simpson, head of smart in the UK and Ireland. ?So many products are turning pink this season, and we think our must-have car will appeal to stylish buyers who want to be in-vogue and make the ultimate fashion
Troubled Mitsubishi unable to rally WRC team for 2006 (Autoblog)
In yet another example of Mitsubishi?s fervor to cut costs, the company has announced that it will not compete in the World Rally Championship in 2006. In an effort to focus on its MMRP (?Mitsubishi Motors Revitalization Plan?), the company is withdrawing from the WRC until at least 2008, when (or perhaps, ?if?) the company?s three- year restructuring plan is completed. For fans of
When gearheads, geeks, and green meet (Autoblog)
Remember those gearheads who modified a Prius so it could average 100 miles per gallon by making better use of its batteries ? Well, their discoveries have gone beyond the garage and into several new companies. CalCars and EDdrive have made available the modification kits for the Prius to the public. The Advanced Hybrid Vehicle Development Consortium , a group of automotive components
Autoblog Gift Guide: Car as Art (Autoblog)
If you?re like me, you consider photographs and posters of cars to be as artful as a Monet or a Picasso. My office walls are covered in Aston Martins, Corvettes, Ferraris, Porsches and various other makes and models. Done right, the photographs even impress those who aren?t automotive enthusiasts. Renestaud.com sells over 160 prints, calendars, posters, books and gifts abound with

thorntonsWhat do you all think of this?...

Don't gourge yourself the night before because we all know that there are strange forces at work which will try to make your wedding gown just a wee bit snug in the morning. A relaxing bath with soothing background music, a cup of herbal tea, and you should be ready to doze off with images of a happy future marriage in your dreams.

She quickly caught on, however, and came away with a chocolate-covered strawberry and a smile on her face. "I like this," said another beaming sampler, Sheila Manuguid, who had come to the Bear Creek Country Club to try out food options for her upcoming wedding reception. She put a chocolate fountain on her list of possibilities.

chocolate covered marshmallowsHeh, look at what I found...

It's the novelty du jour at weddings, bar mitzvahs, celebrity birthdays, movie premieres and campaign bashes. "Brides are flipping for them," says Kathleen Murray, editor of The Knot, the New York-based bridal magazine and Web site. "It's a unique way they can put their mark on the event and make it memorable.

peanutsI thought that this was awesome when I first read it...

Good-quality chocolate is essential, say operators, but it can be semi-sweet, dark, milk chocolate or even white chocolate. Until you look closely and see that the chocolate is moving, it appears solid, confusing some partygoers, who don't know where to dip. Once they get the hang of it, there's lots of smiling.
